MEET HAYDEN LILIEN

Hayden Lilien, J.D., M.B.A., Certified Mediator

I provide family mediation services for couples who are dissolving their marriage or partnerships. I also work with families to resolve conflicts and reach agreements related to a wide range of issues including: differing parenting approaches, financial difficulties, and habitual patterns causing disconnect.

I strive to bridge understanding and preserve respect– between mediation participants – so that they can make the best, most sustainable decisions for themselves and their families. I believe in the importance of resolved endings where each participant has a voice in the process. In most instances this is a much better alternative than a long and expensive legal battle where a judge decides what is best for the family.

I have received extensive training in general mediation practice and family law mediation from the Northern California Mediation Center and the Center for Understanding in Conflict. Prior to starting my Bay Area Mediation Practice, I was the Director of Finance and Administration at the National Center for Youth Law where I supported 40 staff in resolving personal and professional conflict along with managing the financial health of a large organization. I was also a Staff Attorney at Wicker Smith, O’Hare, McKoy and Ford, PA. Alongside my Mediation practice I am a Certified Counselor with a private practice focused on supporting individuals and couples through major life transitions.
